Youth
Each new generation is faced with different challenges, questions, and situations. In the same way, growing up as a follower of Jesus in today’s world is a completely different experience than it was 50, 20, 10 or even 5 years ago.
Youth education and social groups at come2go are designed to support and encourage our young people in their walk in faith in ways that are relevant to the challenges, questions, and situations they run into in their daily experiences in school, at home, or amongst friends.
We place a strong emphasis, not only on educating our youth in the basics of the Christian faith, but also in how that faith is lived outside of the safety of the come2go community or their youth group.
Sunday Education:
Come2Go Ministries provides two Sunday Education programs during worship, though kids and infants are in no way required to attend. Young ones of any age are always welcome in worship.
Kid’s Church (5-10yrs)
Kid’s Church at come2go is a time when younger kids can experience worship and scripture in a way that makes sense to them. Kid’s Church is led by one of our regular volunteers who give education in faith and scripture and try to inspire kids to worship God in their own creative ways.
Nursery (infants and toddlers)
We provide a nursery volunteer every Sunday to sit with your infants and toddlers during morning Bible study and worship (9:30am – 11:45am). You are also welcome to sit in the nursery with your child at any time where you can watch the service through the live video feed in the nursery.
Youth Group (10-13yrs):
We have a thriving and active youth group at come2go which meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7:00pm. We spend an hour on discussion and education, talking about topics and concepts that are important to teens in today’s world, as well as addressing situations or issues that they may run into, trying to provide a Biblical witness to help navigate tough choices.
In order to help our youth explore what it means to live their faith, we place a strong emphasis on participating in service opportunities. To that end, every evening after the education portion of youth group, we go over to the Allen County Public Library and participate in the homeless ministry that is established there, bringing food, clothing and toiletries and interacting with and praying for the people gathered there.
Youth Outings (all ages):
Every month come2go youth have the opportunity to participate in one of our social youth outings. The activity varies, depending on the time of year and whatever event might be available, but we have done such things as laser tag, ice skating, roller skating, sledding, Christian rock concerts and lock-ins. The great thing is that any fees or admissions for any of these events are paid for as a result of the efforts of our volunteers who rent out our parking lot during the Fort Wayne TinCaps minor league baseball season.
